One of the questions we get most often at Nature Booth is “which photobooth package is more popular, digital or print?” While we technically get more requests for print packages, it’s not always an easy question to answer. Just because something is more popular doesn’t mean it’s right for your event. Before picking a photo booth package, you should consider the implications of either option. Let’s go over some of the main pros and cons…
Digital with Sharing
What is it? With the digital package, guests get to share their photos instantly using a kiosk at the event. They can share their photos through Text or E-mail, which they can then save to their device, share on social media, etc.. All photos will also be available in a password-protected gallery within 48 hours of event end.
Pros:
– Tech-savy guests love easily sharing their pictures to social media right at the event. If your event is tech-related, or your family and friends are all about social media, this is definitely an option to consider.
– The greenest option. At Nature Booth we strive to create a printing experience with the least environmental impact. We plant 10 trees for every event the photo booth is booked, our printer uses 25% less electricity than standard in its class, and there are no harmful VOCs in the printing process. However, we still realize that no prints are better for the planet than reduced-impact prints. Going digital is a great way to go green!
– Same some $. This option is a more affordable way to have a photo booth at your event. Perfect for budget savvy weddings and community events!
Cons:
– If your group is not as familiar with technology, they might need some help navigating our touch screen kiosk. Thankfully, with our standard photo booth packages a photo booth assistant will be there to help them out. Even the least tech-savy individuals these days tend to have an e-mail address!
– Some people still love the tactile feeling of having a print, and feel that it can’t be duplicated by technology.
Print
What is it? With the print package, every person in the photo gets either a 2×6 photo strip or 4×6 photo print (depending on what you select for your event). All photos will also be available in a password-protected gallery within 48 hours of event end.
Pros:
– Photo strips provide a highly personalized wedding favour, event favour, or branding opportunity. It gives guests something to remember the event by, long after it’s all over. Many guests like to put their photos on their fridge, wall, corkboard, or somewhere else that’s special to them.
– The thrill of seeing your photos print out before your eyes! Nature Booth’s printer takes only a few seconds before you’re holding the pictures you just took. How cool is that?
– The choice between photo strips and a 4×6 layout gives you extra options for a print layout that fits your event perfectly.
Con:
– Since guests now have something physical with them, they’ll need to find a place to put it. For weddings with assigned seating and beautiful purses, this isn’t a problem. But if you’re at a networking reception, nightclub, or other busy event without seating, you may want to consider the digital option.
